Keeping Current
When to watch your cholesterol level
Naturally, you watch your cholesterol level, even
have it check regularly if you really care about
hanging around. But now comes word that cholesterol levels have their
own season, and seasonal swings. The Archives of Internal Medicine,
one of medicine’s best journals, reports cholesterol levels actually
peaked in January, so readings taken in winter might not be accurate
for the rest of the year. And, most important, the study advises that,
contrary to the usual practice, one should not base any conclusion
about cholesterol levels on just one reading.
